Personal Training for Adults 40+ in Phoenix
Get Stronger. Move Better. Feel Better so you can Keep Doing the Things You Love.
You probably don’t need another workout program.
You can find thousands of those online for free.
What you do need—especially once life gets busy—is a place where somebody knows your name, (think Cheers) who knows what you’re trying to accomplish, notices when you don’t show up, (and calls you to help) and helps you adjust when life gets in the way.
That’s what we’ve been doing at Results Only Fitness in Central Phoenix since 1990. We work with clients from Central Phoenix, North Central Phoenix, Biltmore, Uptown, Arcadia, Paradise Valley, the Central Corridor, and neighborhoods throughout the Valley.
Whether you’re 42 and realizing the workouts you did at 25 aren’t working anymore, 55 and trying to get your strength back, or 65 and determined to keep doing everything you love, the goal isn’t to train like you’re younger.
The goal is to train intelligently (and Safely) for where you are now—and where you want to go next.
Maybe You've Been Here Before
You joined a gym. You were fired up. You went four or five times the first week. You bought new shoes. Maybe even a new water bottle. This time was going to be different.
Then work got crazy. Family needed you. Your schedule got crazier than usual.
You missed Tuesday. Then Thursday.
A vacation happened. The kids needed something. Your back got cranky.
Suddenly that gym membership became another monthly charge for something you weren’t using.
Or maybe that’s not you at all.
Maybe you’ve stayed active for years, but what used to work isn’t working quite as well anymore. You don’t recover the same way. You’ve accumulated a couple of aches and pains. You know you need strength training, but you’re not interested in beating yourself into the ground five days a week.
Either way, you’re not unusual. And you are definitely not crazy.
By your 40s, 50s and 60s, you’ve accumulated more responsibilities, more life experience, probably a few physical limitations—and a much lower tolerance for wasting an hour doing something that isn’t producing results.
That’s why Results Only isn’t built around giving you access to equipment.
It’s built around coaching.
Fitness After 40 Isn't About Trying to Be 25 Again
Your body changes.
So should the way you train.
Strength becomes increasingly important. Recovery matters. Mobility matters. Nutrition matters. And doing something consistently for years becomes much more valuable than destroying yourself for three weeks and disappearing for three months.
That doesn’t mean you need watered-down workouts.
And it certainly doesn’t mean getting older requires surrendering the things you enjoy doing.
We have members who want to play better golf, hike, travel, ski, keep up with their kids and grandkids, feel better in their clothes, stay independent, improve their health, or simply walk upstairs without wondering when stairs became so damn difficult.
Different goals.
Same underlying idea:
- You don’t need easier workouts because you’re getting older.
- You need smarter ones.
- And you need someone who understands where you are right now.
Our job is to help you build strength and fitness that actually improves the life you’re trying to live.
What Training at Results Only Actually Looks Like

Coaching, Not Access

Training That Meets You Where You Are

Strength That Has a Purpose

Accountability

Nutrition

Community
"I Need to Get in Shape Before I Join a Gym."
We’ve heard some version of that sentence for decades.
Think about it.
That’s like saying:
“I need to clean my house before the housekeeper gets here.”
You don’t have to get ready to start.
If it’s been five years since you exercised, we start there.
If it’s been twenty years, we start there.
If you’ve been training consistently for decades and want better coaching, we start there.
If you’re nervous about walking through the door because you don’t feel like you “look like someone who belongs in a gym,” we start there too.
You aren’t expected to arrive fit.
That’s kind of the point.
Your starting point isn’t the problem.
Not starting is.
Three Ways to Train at Results Only
Different people need different levels of coaching, structure and flexibility.
That’s why Results Only offers several ways to train.

Who Results Only Is For — And Who It Isn't
We’re not trying to be the right gym for everybody.
After more than three decades, we’ve learned that’s impossible.
Results Only might be your gym if:
- You want to be coached rather than left alone to figure everything out.
- You know accountability helps you stay consistent.
- You want to get stronger and remain capable as you get older.
- You want a program that considers where you’re starting.
- You appreciate trainers who actually know who you are.
- You want nutrition to be part of the conversation.
- You like being around people with different ages, abilities and fitness levels.
- You want fitness to improve your life—not become your entire life.
Results Only probably isn’t your gym if:
You want to walk in whenever you feel like it, put on your headphones and disappear.
If you want to follow workouts you found online without being coached, we’re probably not your gym.
If you only want to do exercises you already like, we’re probably not your gym.
And if you’re simply looking for the cheapest place in Phoenix to have access to exercise equipment, there are better choices.
We don’t say that to be cute.
The right gym isn’t the gym everybody should join. It’s the gym you’ll actually keep going to.
Why Results Only Fitness?
We’ve Been Doing This in Phoenix Since 1990.
Thirty-six years doesn’t automatically make a business good.
But thirty-six years gives you an incredible amount of opportunity to learn.
We’ve watched thousands of people begin fitness programs.
We’ve watched people succeed.
We’ve watched people struggle.
We’ve watched careers change, kids grow up, bodies change, injuries happen, motivation disappear and priorities shift.
And we’ve learned something important:
Most people don’t fail because they don’t know exercise is good for them.
They struggle because making exercise fit consistently into a real life is hard.
That’s why Results Only has evolved around much more than workouts.
Coaching, Structure, Accountability, Nutrition, and Community.
And people who notice whether you’re actually making progress.
We aren’t interested in helping you exercise for six weeks.
We’d rather become the last gym you’ll ever need to join.
Am I too old to start strength training?
Age alone doesn’t determine whether you can benefit from strength training. Your health, exercise history and individual circumstances matter, which is why an appropriate starting point is important.
If you have a medical condition, significant injury or concerns about beginning an exercise program, speak with your physician or appropriate healthcare professional first.
Once you’re cleared to exercise, our job is to meet you where you are—not where you think you’re supposed to be.
I haven't exercised in years. Can I still start at Results Only?
Absolutely.
You don’t need to demonstrate anything before walking through our doors.
We’ll talk about your history, goals and current starting point and help determine which Results Only program makes the most sense for you.
What's the difference between semi-private personal training and group fitness?
Semi-private personal training provides a higher level of individualization in a very small coaching environment. Members can be working on different programs based on their individual goals.
Group fitness follows a shared training session while coaches provide instruction, modifications and guidance.
Both are coached.
The right choice depends on how much individualization, scheduling flexibility and personal attention you want.
What if I have an old injury or physical limitation?
Tell us.
SO many of our clients arrived with a history of injuries, surgeries, aches or movements that don’t feel particularly good anymore.
Our coaches modify exercises or select appropriate alternatives. If something requires medical evaluation or rehabilitation, we’ll tell you that too.
We’re trainers—not physical therapists pretending to be doctors. But we know a lot of them and can help you find the right one if necessary.
How often should adults over 40 strength train?
There isn’t one correct number for everyone.
Your training frequency depends on your goals, experience, current activity level, recovery and the rest of your life.
For general health, U.S. physical-activity guidelines recommend adults perform muscle-strengthening activity involving all major muscle groups on at least two days each week.
We’ll help you determine what makes sense for you rather than automatically prescribing the maximum amount of exercise you can squeeze into a calendar.
Do you provide nutrition coaching?
Yes. Nutrition is an important part of the Results Only coaching process.
Our goal isn’t to hand you an unrealistic meal plan you’ll follow for eleven days.
We want to help you develop practical nutrition habits that support your goals and can coexist with your actual life.
You Don't Need to Get Ready to Start.
If you’re in your 40s, 50s, 60s or beyond and you’re ready to get stronger, move better and become more consistent, come meet us.
We’ll talk about where you are. We’ll talk about where you want to go. We’ll explain how Results Only works. And we’ll figure out whether we’re the right fit for each other.
No pretending.
No need to prove anything before you arrive.
Just start the conversation.
